My 3 yr old step son has shingles had it for a couple weeks now he's been treated for it and it's....?

it's almost completely dried out but it's still clearly there and it causes him some discomfort and he scratches it alot..my question is we have a 2 month old son is he in danger of getting it or does he have come into direct contact with the shingles? also if there any home remedies for the itching i'd be grateful.
