How to protect iPod from water?

I have one of those pool floats you can lie down on, and I wanted to listen to music while lying on it in my pool. How could I protect my iPod (clic) while lying in the float? I don't plan on submerging it in the water, but if that happens by accident, I want it to be protected. How could I make something with household items? (i.e. platic baggies, plastic wrap, etc.) If not, I suppose I'll buy the ipod waterproof case.
