How to fix a broken friendship with my best guy friend/crush (Long but read please)?

I think you should tell him how you feel, its better late than never!!! Since he's already acting funny around you and it seems as if your friendship is already going down hill what else do you have to lose you know? Get it off your chest because when he's gone you're going to regret it. You will start to wonder what could have been, what would have been and what SHOULD have been. Never live life with regrets! Pour your heart out, because im pretty sure whatever his response is it wont come close to the amount of pain you feel right now. The worse he can say is, "I dnt feel the same way." Give it a try!! Oh and btw, it does seem like he likes you. I guess since he noticed that you were denying all the rumors and wasn't playing around that you really didn't like him. He wanted to keep distance away from you to make sure he didn't fall head over heels for you and then get shot down. I hope everything works out for the best :)
